Expand your PSG by welcoming new parents and sharing the benefits of joining. An active PSG helps children thrive and gives parents a chance to connect with their school community.
Growing your PSG is important for long-term success and impact. New parents who join the school each year can be part of the PSG community and offer fresh perspectives to enrich the PSG. Consider these ‘RITE’ steps when reaching out and recruiting new members.
These are some reasons why parents join the Parent Support Group! Feel free to share with your parent community as part of your recruitment efforts.
The PSG is a great opportunity for parents to grow closer to your children, understand them better, and help them in their education journey.
Children also benefit when parents are more active in their school environment. They tend to:
Develop more positive attitudes;
Have better school attendance and complete homework more consistently;
Be better at bridging the cultural gap between school and home; and
Be less anti-social and less prone to behavioural issues.
